GM Student Design Competition
GM invited us to Chicago this Thursday for the GM Student Design Competition: Imagine 2008 - the International Academy of Design & Technology's Annual Fashion show. GM is sponsoring a design challenge linking automotive and fashion design into the 2008 IMAGINE Fashion Show.

We'll be posting video soon - including interviews with the designers and models and Bryan Nesbitt, Executive Director GM Europe Design Center.

Long Photos - Quite Interesting

Having learned about long photos just recently, I must say that I find the idea quite interesting. So here's my first go at it - nothing exciting, just a view of a road here in San Geronimo - but still quite interesting. Of course there's Mikey trotting by, but funny how the rooster decided to crow and the cars came by and all that.

News & Trend Machine at 49Sparks
We just put the News & Trend Machine on the home page of 49Sparks. It is constantly checking a couple hundred thousand blogs for web pages that people are talking about. Right now. And the results are sorted by relevance. The more people talk about a page, the higher it goes on the list. So the results you see are not determined by anyone in particular. It's a huge crowd where everyone has their say. And crowds tend to be right.

It's not only a great source for the latest news, but also a cool tool that you can use to find the latest trends on the subjects you're interested in. To find trends, select a longer time period (last 2 weeks, for example) and search for the topic you're interested in. Try web design, typography, sustainability or design trend, for example. Poke around a bit - we're sure you'll find something interesting. And tomorrow, you'll find something else that is interesting again. And again.
